In reporting astrological transits and forecasts, I place some emphasis on what is actually visible to our eyes, when possible. Taking some time to look at the stars at night will not only reconnect us to the wonders of our place in the universe, but give us an opportunity to more directly feel the impacts of planetary activity, as well as being more open to natural wisdom as it comes through.

We all experience the general cosmic conditions, but at any time some more than others, depending on the resonance with the individual birth chart.

This is a powerful new moon bringing in the changes that we've been feeling coming for awhile. Those with planets, angles or other sensitive points within 5 degrees or so on either side of 12 degrees Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra will be very strongly affected. New Moon meditations are very quiet, deep and reflective times, especially this one with the emotional wrapping of cancer that can take you to a safe and protected place as you listen to higher guidance.

Happy July 4th!! -- as we deal collectively with the idea of security, insecurity, and what the right and true thing to do is relative to our place as humans on the earth and part of the bigger human family. Compassion, kindness and proper nurturing seem woefully lacking and the result is for many of us, a level of emotional arrestment that seems endemic. Our emotions may be both more noticeable and changeable during this week, with a good dose of electrical excitement with Mercury square Uranus and Venus trine Uranus. This week as we take advantage of more enlightened ideas and values that can spring out of the quieter inner reflective time of this period. The New Moon in Cancer along with this Uranus activity and Sagittarian activity as Pluto retrogrades closer to the Galactic Center and Jupiter is retrograde in Capricorn, is the opportunity for leaps in our emotional maturity - or not. It's always our choice! As we move take the initiative to move forward with our new journeys, paths, relationships and ways of operating in the world, there can also be sudden and unexpected but magical synchronicities to help us on our way.

What to look for in your chart:

- The New Moon will strongly influence planet, angles and other sensitive points within 5 degrees on either side of 12 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Libra and Aries.

- Uranian energy will be felt strongly on all points of the chart around 20 degrees, give or take 7 - 10.

- Those with planets or angles between 25 Sag to 0 Capricorn are revisiting the issues and developments of the last year and a half for a "final tweek"!

Mars in the sky moves closer to both Regulus and Saturn all week long in the early evening sky, due west. Mars gets us going, moves us along our path with a reminder of our desires and passions. This pushes us forward, but if there is resistance or ignorance, then this energy comes through as irritability or aggression.

As Mars gets closer to Saturn there is extraordinary impetus to regain some control of our lives where we may feel we have lost it, whether due to natural disasters, financial disasters or other situations, and which have recently brought big changes into our lives. This is a good week to think more about simplifying and creating what you need in your life to keep you on your path through further organization and order.

This is generally going to be a summer of plutonian processing which none of us will be immune to. This week, Mars is also coming up on a trine with Pluto, which is another emphasized push, potentially graceful but certainly not guaranteed to be, towards turning that corner in our lives that we’ve been looking at for awhile. Guidelines are remembering to keep faith and tuning into higher guidance.

The points in a chart that will be most sensitive to this will be the later degrees of the fire signs, especially Leo and Sagittarius, and early Virgo as well as the early degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces. The Plutonian process is the surrender or letting go of what no longer serves your life, whether it be material things, emotional states and habits or mental thought patterns.

Astrological forecasts and transits are related to sacred geometry and the relationship created by the angles between two or more planets or other points in space. The angle creates a resonance between the energies of these two points.

Forecasts describe the general “cosmic weather” that we all experience with the different resonances. As we stand under and within these energies, some of us are more influenced by them than others if they also happen to connect up to points in our natal birth charts, forming an angle and thus also forming a particular energetic resonance.

These energetic resonances are neither good nor bad, but can be used and experienced in higher or lower ways. The knowledge that astrology gives us is the power to choose how we “work the energies” and so determine the flavor of our lives.
